Our mission and method
Too many American adults neither understand nor trust how our system of government works.
In response, we help American adults understand and explain why our political system has value and how, together, we can protect and improve the foundations of trust in our republic. We do that by providing materials for civic education.
In addition to focusing on adults ages 18 and up, we emphasize why the U.S. system of government has value, how our institutions have (and haven’t) helped create that value over time, and how ordinary citizens can both benefit from the system and defend it.
Preliminary survey work suggests our approach can have a positive impact. After reading material like ours, survey respondents were more likely to assert a willingness to defend our U.S. system of government.
We made more progress in 2022 and 2023!
We attracted 15,385 website views in 2022, up from 8,760 views in 2021, excluding our viral post on the last line in the Declaration of Independence.

- We reached an average of 15,144 people on Facebook with posts covering a wide variety of topics.
- We published a new course on Congress in 2023, reviewed by two experts, one conservative, one liberal.
- Continued expansion of our glossary covering key concepts.
- In addition to our on-line offerings, we now also offer readers the option to receive our educational content via daily emails that stop when each topic is finished.
- We revised our website for a better look and ease of use. More work is planned.

What comes next?
With your help, we can reach more people, with more content, with more impact! We are working to make our current materials easier to read and use, while also getting them ready for conversion into audio files, videos, and other formats. We intend to continue expanding our list of topics. We will continue to learn more about our audience and impact.
