Is there a trustworthy system for choosing our leaders, policies, and projects? That question is the topic of this short, 2-part course. We will review what political trust and distrust are and why both are important. We will also explore how our Constitution’s framers dealt with their distrust of government and how Americans assess our system today. Along the way, we identify actions citizens like yourself can take to keep and defend our Republic.
Is there a useful balance between trust and distrust? How did the framers use the Constitution to solve issues of trust every bit as difficult as those we face today?
Politicians started testing the new Constitution almost immediately. Gaps have opened between how things were supposed to work and how they actually work. Learn how those gaps might impact on our trust and distrust of our system.
