Sometimes, when a problem gets bad enough, people say things like “burn it all down and start over.” Many people have said that about the federal government.
Suppose the “burn it down” people get their way. What kind of government would you like to see built after the fire?
To help you think about that, we have a newly revised course entitled What Could Governments Do for Us? It is short, just 30 minutes.
It starts with a question – why do we need governments at all?
Next, the course reviews several issues all governments face – including how much government people might want, and how to deal with deficits and debt.
From there, we review choices in the composition of federal spending and provide links to budget simulators that you can try out. This is followed by a review a number of the key functions that many governments provide – along with links to comparisons from around the world.
Give it a try and let us know if it was useful by taking the short survey at the end. You can see our full list of courses on government here: https://cffad.org/topics/
