Republic or Democracy 8

Republican democracy does not eliminate the risk of tyranny by a majority, but it can diminish that risk – when the executive and legislative branches are willing and able to block any attempt by the other to act against the people. • It can be used for large, busy populations.
  • Elected representatives and leaders can be held accountable to the voters through elections.
